Comet C / 2022 E3 (ZTF), discovered in 2022, approached the Earth at a minimum distance of about 42 million kilometers. This is about four times less than the average distance to the Sun. For observers from Earth, the object has reached its maximum brightness.
Residents of the Northern Hemisphere will be able to see the comet with the naked eye, provided that the weather conditions are suitable and the city lighting is not too bright. C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is in the constellation Giraffe.
With a telescope, you can see the tail of a comet. Astrophysicists report that it has a greenish tint. C/2022 E3 (ZTF) has not approached the Earth for about 50 thousand years.
