The grain harvest in Russia may exceed 140 million tons by the end of the year, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with leaders of advanced engineering schools.

Ministry of Agriculture counted reach a grain harvest of 127 million tons in bunker weight, in net – more than 123 million tons, said the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev. In July of this year, Patrushev noted that the Ministry of Agriculture maintains the grain harvest forecast at 130 million tons, and called it “one of the best results in the history of the country.” In August, the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) predicted a harvest of 145 million tons, 95 million tons of which will come from wheat.
