Governor Vorobyov called the heating situation in Podolsk difficult

Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov reported that by the middle of today, January 7, heat will be supplied to another 10 houses in the Klimovsk microdistrict in Podolsk. He called the heating situation in the neighborhood difficult.

“In the very near future we will launch a second 20 Gcal boiler at the plant’s boiler room. This will increase the current power of the boiler room by approximately two times and stabilize the parameters. After this, we will be able to provide heat to the houses of the third stage – we expect this by the middle of the day,” Mr. Vorobiev wrote in Telegram. He listed the addresses of 10 houses included in the third stage for heating.

The governor said that as a result of the accident in Klimovsk, 170 houses lost heat. He also listed the addresses of 39 houses that were connected to heating yesterday.

Mr. Vorobyov said that workers are now changing the shut-off valves on the main pipeline at the intersection of Michurina and Teatralnaya streets, which will provide heat to 33 more houses. He added that heaters and additional blankets are being distributed to residents of houses affected by the accident located in the Yunost sports center.

January 4 in the northeast of the city of Klimovsk (part of the urban district of Podolsk) without heating remained residents of 173 apartment buildings. The reason was breakthrough heating mains from the boiler house of the Klimovsky specialized cartridge plant. The mayor of Podolsk, Grigory Artamonov, explained that since the accident occurred at a sensitive facility, the elimination of violations was delayed. The next day, local residents demanded that the heating be returned and those responsible be brought to justice. Administration of Podolsk introduced local emergency situation.

Vice-Governor of the Moscow Region Evgeny Khromushin said yesterday that heating had been returned to 45 houses. Taking into account the disruptions in the heating supply, he promised that the authorities would recalculate utility bills. The Moscow Region Prosecutor’s Office is checking the implementation of housing legislation. Head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin instructed check cases of heating outages in the Moscow region.
