Governor Gladkov urged Belgorod hunters not to shoot at saboteurs

Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov called on hunters and people who own weapons living in the region to refrain from using them against saboteurs and any armed people. So the governor during live broadcast answered the question of whether the civilian population can use personal weapons if a group of saboteurs again enter the territory of the Belgorod region.
“From my point of view, it is categorically impossible to do this. Why?.. And if you open fire on our armed forces? Uniforms are khaki everywhere, some have white armbands, some are yellow, some are red, some are blue. It is absolutely impossible to do this,” the head of the region said. Vyacheslav Gladkov noted that about 40 thousand people live in the Belgorod region, who have a permit for weapons.
As an example, Mr. Gladkov cited a situation that, according to the governor, he was told by “boys” whom he met during his visits to Kozinka, Gory-Podil and Glotovo. “They were driving home by car, they didn’t notice what roads they were on, they didn’t notice the checkpoints. The military stopped them. They jumped out, did not understand who stopped them, Ukrainians or ours. Only when they approached the second post did the Ukrainians open fire on them in the distance. They ran away with vegetable gardens, swamps, and escaped,” he added.
According to the governor, there are currently enough troops that can ensure the security of the region. He stressed that only specially trained people, “who are required by law,” that is, the National Guard, border services, the Ministry of Defense and the FSB, should monitor security. “If all those hunters who now live in Kozinka opened fire … what would be the number of dead then?” – he said and recalled that as a result of the penetration of a group of saboteurs on May 22, a person died.
On May 22, a sabotage and reconnaissance group penetrated the territory of the Graivoronsky district of the Belgorod region. As a result died a civilian, 13 were injured, and a woman died during evacuation activities. Because of the attack by saboteurs, a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced. It was canceled yesterday, May 23rd.
