Gostekh can gain access to secrets protected by law

The Russian Ministry of Digital Development proposed to make Gostekh an operator of information systems that contain certain types of secrets protected by law. About it it says in the draft decree of the President of the Russian Federation, published on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
Changes are being made to the presidential decree of March 31, 2023 “On the creation, development and operation of state information systems using the unified digital platform of the Russian Federation “Gostekh”. The initiative is designed to ensure the creation, development and operation of government information systems within the framework of the Gostekh platform infrastructure.
It is emphasized that the goal is to protect secrets protected by law, with the exception of state secrets. If the information system contains state secrets, then its creation and use using the Gostekh platform is not carried out, the document says.
It is proposed to use the platform’s tools in the field of defense, investigation and legal proceedings. The decision on this will be made by the heads of the relevant government bodies.
March 31, 2023 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decree on the creation, development and operation of state information systems using the Gostekh platform. This measure was necessary to ensure the requirements for the protection of information contained in government information systems (GIS). At the same time, the document emphasized that the operation of GIS using Gostekh is impossible if they contain state secrets, official secrets in the field of defense, as well as secrets of investigation and legal proceedings.
