“Goat feces on the head”: the stylist exposed the “new trend” in the beauty industry

What sacrifices do ladies make in pursuit of “everything new” in the field of beauty procedures? They are already ready to rub goat feces into their heads, believing the marketers-barbers that it makes the hair color of dyed blondes even more “blond.” We are talking about a hair mask made from goat feces, which, according to some information sources, appeared not so long ago in Moscow luxury SPA salons at a hefty price of 30,000 rubles and is supposedly in great demand among blondes.

MK conducted its own research on this issue to find out where is nonsense and where is some common sense?

The Internet has spread around the video: a certain metropolitan hairdresser-stylist Alexander, with a blue eye, enthusiastically says that at first, having learned from his colleagues about the new “trend for naturalness” in the form of a hair mask made from goat feces, he thought that people were “kuckoo”, but Then I decided to try this method myself. “I found a farm. I found fertilizer.” Before that, I read “a lot of different articles.” As a result, the stylist personally became convinced of the magical power of goat manure. “For blondes this is a huge plus: lightening occurs…,” he says. “It removes yellowness very well.”

Ordinary Russians, far from “natural beauty trends,” greeted the news about the “goat hair mask” with homeric laughter, which is noticeable from the comments on social networks: “Come to the village, you can pick it up for free on the road!” And rub it in at least every day!” “You can also make beads from goat poop (and rabbit poop too)!” “Well done, they cheat suckers out of money and also rub feces into their heads, it’s fun!”

The goat owners we spoke with were laughing at this news. No one had ever heard of anything like this. “I can only say about the composition of goat manure,” farmer Elena Viktorovna from Serpukhov told us. – It is rich in essential macroelements – potassium, nitrogen, phosphorus. Maybe this really makes your hair look better? I don’t know… It’s like fertilizer – yes, it’s good. But you came up with an excellent idea – I’ll call beauty salons and offer them the “material” of my goats! (smiles).

“MK” tried to find out where the roots of this “fashion perversion” come from, as Telegram channels call the method. To ordinary people ignorant of cosmetology, this method might seem like a joke or nonsense, but the foreign electronic “animal encyclopedia” states that, in addition to using goat excrement as an excellent fertilizer (the most effective of all types of manure, by the way!), they are also used to make argan oil, which, as you know, serves as a wonderful remedy for improving skin condition and strengthening hair.

“Small” nuance. In order to obtain argan oil from goat waste products, the animals need to eat argan, and this low-growing tree (on which goats jump) grows only in Morocco and Algeria. That is, we are not talking about Russian producers of goat dung, but about Moroccan ones.

One of the travel bloggers, who visited Morocco and met local goats there, said: “Goats literally poop bones, and when they fall out of the already dry poop, the shepherds collect them.” True, as she noted, “such oil is not considered the best.” “Do you know why? Because goats eat not only ripe fruits, but also greenish ones. And the oil that comes out of them is not of better quality and is cheaper. But, if you buy branded cosmetics with argan oil, then I think you shouldn’t worry.” After all, large producers collect the fruits for making oil directly from the trees.

So if you are going to make yourself a mask from goat feces, then you should probably clarify whether they are ours or Moroccan?

“MK” listened to the opinion of the leading hairdresser-stylist from a premium beauty salon in the capital.

“I have never seen this kind of information about a mask made from goat feces,” stylist Sergei told us. – But then I heard an even worse story – a “life hack” from the very distant past – about using children’s liquid stool (liquid, apparently, to make application more comfortable) to lighten strands of hair. I think that sophisticated fashionistas could do this on pre-revolutionary estates on the advice of experienced nannies (smiles). I would like to note that it is caustic, and due to this it can change the structure of the hair. Even long-haired ladies used this “naturel” method – they lay in the sun for a long time, straightening their hair, in the hope of getting light highlights.

But my personal opinion is that the level of development of modern beauty technologies, the knowledge in the field of chemistry that helps create high-quality beauty products, casts doubt on the use of goat excrement to prepare a hair mask.

In this regard, Sergey recalled the situation with the production of coffee from beans fermented in the stomach of musang (forest cats) – the most expensive kopi-luwak coffee in the world. The animals eat the ripe fruits of the coffee tree, digest the pulp surrounding the beans, and defecate the beans themselves. Of course, they are pre-treated in a special way. After the beans pass through the gastrointestinal tract of the musang, the coffee made from them acquires a special taste.

“It is likely that some super-secret recipe for processing goat feces for a mask was found here,” the stylist concluded. – Although, in any case, I am exclusively for the use of professional hair cosmetics from brands that have proven themselves well in the beauty market.

Meanwhile, some public pages on social networks are trying to slander this topic: they say that due to Western sanctions in Moscow, “an anti-wrinkle cream based on road dirt and nail polish made from resin and soot will soon appear in Moscow.”
