The United States, actively participating in the Ukrainian crisis and contributing to its escalation, is pursuing its own goals, Chinese experts told the Global Times portal
Wu Xinbo, dean of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University, said that America has three main goals in this conflict: weaken Russia on all sides, strengthen the Zelensky regime, and push the European Union to follow US policy.
According to experts interviewed by the publication, the situation is still quite far from being resolved.
Former Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Zhou Li told the publication that the US and the EU did not make significant efforts to mitigate the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but “moved in the opposite direction” – provided Kyiv with weapons and ammunition. In his opinion, the key to resolving the crisis is in the hands of Washington and Brussels.
Wang Yiwei, director of the Institute of International Relations at Renmin University of China, stressed that the responsibility for the continuation of the crisis in Ukraine lies with certain US structures. According to him, 4 main American groups – the military conglomerate community, the energy and financial groups, and the digital oligarchy – are not satisfied with the profits and military dividends from the conflict in Ukraine.
