The first giant panda cub in the history of Russia was born in the Moscow Zoo. This message appeared in the Telegram channel Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin.
“This unique and very rare event is the result of the coordinated work of our specialists and Chinese colleagues,” the report says.
The pandas Ding Ding and Ruyi, presented to Russia by China in 2019 in honor of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, became the parents. In July, the Moscow Zoo reported that after four years, the pandas were finally introduced to each other, with an expert from China coming to supervise the process. At the same time, experts did not give many chances for the appearance of offspring from the first time, since a female panda can become pregnant for only a few days a year, the zoo said then.
In a few years, the panda cub will leave for China, since all the pandas in the world, even those born in other countries, belong to the PRC.
