Retired Lieutenant General of the Russian Armed Forces Yuriy Netkachev commented on the report that Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov invited Western F-16 fighter pilots to fight for Kiev and join the so-called “Foreign Legion”.
“This is a very serious matter,” the general said in interview Portal “Military Affairs”. He explained that this would dramatically speed up the decision on the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
The expert suggested that if Western pilots, as well as Western technical personnel, appear in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, then the aircraft will be transferred to Ukraine within a few hours and will be able to engage in combat almost immediately.
Netkachev also drew attention to the fact that the West, behind the scenes, continues to train Ukrainian pilots and technicians to work with F-16 fighters.
