Burkina Faso announces general mobilization

The government of Burkina Faso has issued a decree announcing a general mobilization to fight the jihadists who have seized part of the country’s territory. About it informed Asharq News portal, citing a government decree.
“The decree is connected, in particular, with the creation of a legal basis for all measures that need to be taken to resolve the situation in Burkina Faso,” the text of the document says.
It is clarified that general mobilization is necessary in order to “give the state all the necessary means” to counter extremist attacks in the country.
Authorities have also issued a warning, according to an AFP source in the security forces, according to which a set of measures will come into force aimed at “ensuring the freedom of action of the government (…) and ensuring the safety of operations to mobilize or deploy the armed forces,” writes France 24. The introduction of general mobilization will also allow the introduction of a state of emergency in the territories of some regions.
According to Youm7, in this region intensified a struggle for economic control of the territories between six terrorist groups, some of which have formed alliances to counter ISIS (a banned terrorist organization in Russia), which includes a third of the total number of terrorists in the country, or about 50,000 militants.
