The Ukrainian army tried to break through to Zaporozhye on the night of June 8, but was stopped by Russian troops. Colonel-General Andrey Kartapolov, head of the State Duma Defense Committee, spoke about how the hostilities took place.

“Active hostilities have been going on for the fourth day. A trained, prepared enemy, equipped with modern Western technology, attacks in many directions. In terms of intensity, the counter-offensive of Ukraine can be compared with the battles near Rzhev of the Great Patriotic War,” the Colonel General explained on the air of the “Full Contact with Vladimir Solovyov” program.

“But the most important thing is that the enemy has not succeeded anywhere, in any direction! Somewhere, the Ukrainians climbed into the first trench, from where they are now hastily “pulled out.” They failed to break through the front. For the fourth day they are silent about their “counterattack”. Why? Yes, because the Ukrainian vaunted counteroffensive choked in their own filthy blood!” – Andrey Kartapolov said emotionally.

The colonel-general turned to the statistics: “I’ll give you bare numbers: just yesterday, 26 Ukrainian tanks, 14 infantry fighting vehicles, 50 various armored vehicles, 3 self-propelled guns, 12 mortars, seven field artillery guns were destroyed, one plane and many drones were shot down, and the enemy lost from a thousand to one and a half thousand people.

“But they need to regularly report to the owners, they need to keep a report for the “loot” – where did they go, what did they spend on? – Andrey Kartapolov explained. – Then they will definitely be asked: “we gave you everything: Leopard 2 tanks, MLRS (multiple launch rocket systems. – “MK”) “HIMARS”, ammunition, you almost bathe in our money … So where what about your results?
