General Gurulev estimated the chances of Kyiv to recapture Soledar

Kyiv will undoubtedly attempt to recapture Soledar, which was taken by parts of the Wagner PMC, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) have no chance of success. So says State Duma Deputy Lieutenant General Andrey Gurulev. He said on the air of the program “Full contact with Vladimir Solovyov” that the likelihood of counterattacks from outside the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Soledar area is high. Kyiv can throw in regular parties of territorial defense fighters, that is, mobilized ones, it is possible that it will also use the strategic presidential reserve. But regaining lost positions, the general noted, is always more difficult than holding them. The command of PMC “Wagner” foresaw the threat of counterattacks, and, for sure, managed to take the necessary measures. For the defense of the city, positions equipped with the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be used. Therefore, Gurulev believes, in the event of an attempt to recapture Soledar, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will only face new huge losses.
