General Gurulev called for Stalinist repressions: “So be it”

Deputy Gurulev: it’s time to introduce the concept of “enemy of the people” at the front and in civilian life

Member of the State Duma Defense Committee, former Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District, Reserve Lieutenant General Andrey Gurulev called for personal responsibility for each task at the front. In addition, he believes that it is necessary to tighten the responsibility for all citizens.

“There must be a personal measure of responsibility for each task,” he said on the air of the “Full Contact with Vladimir Solovyov” program.

According to Gurulev, if at the front the chief gives wrong instructions and through his fault people die and we do not fulfill the tasks, then he must be held responsible. The deputy urged that commanders, when setting a task, be obliged to write a combat order, so that the degree of responsibility of each would be clear.

“If a person does not understand, then he should not just be fired, he should be demoted, put into service, in a trench as a private,” the lieutenant general expressed confidence.

“It’s time to introduce the concept of ‘enemy of the people’, there are enemies, but there is no concept,” Gurulev said next, adding that this should apply not only to people at the front, but also to civilians, “all waiting people, all this bastard.”

“What are we embarrassed about? Do I want Stalinist repressions? So be it!” the deputy continued.

He said that his grandfather went through the entire war, but in 1946 he was convicted under this article and spent 9 years in the camp and then was rehabilitated. Gurulev urged to understand that “at that time it was necessary to do this in the state.”

“Everyone should have discipline, from a private to a marshal, then there will be a sense,” the Russian politician believes.
