“On April 25, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the Russian Federation, L. Darii, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, who was strongly protested in connection with the ongoing unfriendly steps towards Russia by the official Chisinau,” the message says.
As a response, Russia expels an employee of the Moldovan embassy. Moscow also decided to close entry to Russia for a number of Moldovan officials in response to anti-Russian statements and Chisinau’s accession to EU sanctions against the Russian Federation.
The Ambassador of Moldova arrived at the Russian Foreign Ministry today, April 25. The diplomat stayed in the building of the department for about 30 minutes. His visit explained “diplomatic routine” and added that the conversation was held “in a constructive manner.”

Two more Russian diplomats were denied special access to the airport.
The reason for this decision was the actions of the employees of the Russian Embassy in relation to the Moldovan border guards, who on April 17 refused entry into the country to the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic explained.
April 17 Moldovan authorities announced Minnikhanov as an undesirable person. Then the deputy of the Moldovan parliament, Alexander Sukhodolsky, said that, despite the official invitation to the congress “Friendship of Peoples – 2023” (timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Russian Community of the Republic of Moldova), which is held for the first time in the Moldovan city of Comrat, upon arrival in Chisinau, the head of Tatarstan “even they didn’t let me get off the plane” and handed me a document with a refusal to enter.
