Mash: Galkin refused to tour in Dubai due to a fine from the UAE government
The Mash Telegram channel reports that comedian Maxim Galkin (included in the register of individual foreign agents in the Russian Federation) refused to perform in Dubai. According to the publication, the main reasons are the recent fine from the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the fear of receiving new ones. Another reason is a potential entry ban due to the Russophobic program.
As noted on the Telegram channel, Galkin has not given major concerts in the UAE for a year, and completely excluded Dubai and Abu Dhabi from the 2024 tour so as not to risk it. It is noted that the comedian previously tried to “clean up” the program by removing Russophobic jokes, but decided not to do this, since the target audience goes to his performances precisely for this.
Mash added that the idea of refusing to perform in the UAE was also supported by local organizers who do not want to be sanctioned for working with an artist who violates local laws.
