French department store chain Galeries Lafayette has decorated its store in central Berlin’s Unter den Linden district on Friedrichstrasse with colorful penises.

According to the Bild telegram channel, such extravagant decorations appeared on six Christmas trees displayed in the windows of the shopping center. This has caused a stir among residents of the German capital and tourists, who stop to photograph the unusual Christmas trees.

At the same time, a representative of the shopping center explained to German journalists that this is part of a campaign to attract tourists to the Kingdom of Bhutan. Information about this state from Southeast Asia was also displayed next to the Christmas trees. The Gallery explained that the phallus in Bhutan is a completely traditional cultural symbol, reflecting protection and fertility, and has no sexual connotations.

Also, a representative of Galeries Lafayette noted that they do not intend to sell such toys in the shopping center.
