FSB opened another case of treason

Found in the card file of the Lefortovo Court of Moscow card against a man named A. V. Titov. As follows from the electronic document, he is accused in the case of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It drew attention “RIA News”. Previously, this case was not known.
The news agency notes that Titov was initially arrested in one of the Russian regions, and then transferred to Moscow. Now the investigation has come out with a petition to the Lefortovo Court of Moscow to extend the preventive measure for the arrested person.
The petition of the investigation, as follows from the card, was filed on August 4. “The petition of the investigation to extend the term of detention will be considered today,” the court told the agency.
The Federal Security Service is investigating criminal cases of treason. The plot of the criminal case against Titov is unknown due to secrecy. Article 275 provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment from 12 to 20 years.
Those arrested on treason cases are kept in the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center in Moscow. According to the statistics of the department at the Supreme Court of Russia, for 2021 and 2020 years, 24 citizens were found guilty under articles on treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and espionage (Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). There were no acquittals under these articles during this period.
This year, treason cases were initiated against several scientists: Alexander Shiplyuk, Director of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Anatoly Maslov, Chief Researcher of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Dmitry Kolker, Head of the Laboratory of Quantum Optical Technologies of Novosibirsk State University. The latter was ill with cancer and died two days after his arrest.
