From October 1, motorists will be able to present to the traffic police inspectors a driver’s license uploaded to the State Services Auto mobile application. This was announced by the head of the Main Directorate for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Chernikov.

The ability to present rights in electronic form is being introduced in a test mode, Chernikov said during the international forum Kazan Digital Week, which opened today in the capital of Tatarstan.

However, the conversion of driver’s licenses into electronic form is not yet fully completed, it is planned to be done before the end of the year. In addition, it is necessary to make appropriate amendments to the SDA.

So for now, just in case, it’s better to have all the necessary documents for the car and the right to drive it, as stipulated in the Rules of the Road: what if not all traffic police inspectors will know about the experiment, or maybe there will be no Internet at the place of document verification .
