Guram, a resident of Tbilisi, says that he sent his wife and daughter, who suffers from bronchial asthma, to breathe in the mountain air and drink mineral water. (Shovi resort is located at an altitude of 1.5 thousand meters above sea level).

“Thank God, my family managed to evacuate. But what I saw will stand before my eyes until the end of my days,” says Guram. – More than 5 million cubic meters of stones mixed with clay collapsed into the gorge there. Everything happened in a matter of minutes. This stream cut everything in its path like a razor. Down in this mud, milled centuries-old trees flew. When I arrived there, there was a continuous mess, viscous silt became a swamp. This mass covered an area of ​​about 50 hectares. The cottages where the vacationers stayed were buried under a 6-7-meter layer of stones and clay. I saw the chips that were left from the buildings.

According to Guram, military engineers arrived at the scene with special equipment and machinery.

“They had to build pontoon bridges to get through this viscous mass. Rescue work continued around the clock. But it is already clear that genetic testing may be required to identify people.

Locals say that such powerful mudflows have never descended in the valley before.

“And this time there was no warning,” says Oni Manana, a resident of the regional center. – On the eve there were showers, glaciers began to actively melt, soil erosion began and a deadly mudflow went down.

One of the dead was Russian Ksenia Tricheva. She was identified in the morgue by a friend.

– Ksyusha comes from Perm, – says her friend Andrey, – She has always been very open, sociable, positive. And a big smart one. Graduated from the Perm branch of the Higher School of Economics. I was in a hurry to live, I tried myself in many areas. She was very selfish. I was always looking for something new and did not want to stay within the framework, in patterns like everyone else. Then she and her friends went to live in Shanghai. Worked remotely as a graphic designer. And her main hobby was DJing, DJ sets. She skillfully improvised, mixed tracks, created her own music on the fly, including drums, guitars, horns. “Played along” on the synthesizer. My head was spinning when I saw all these remotes, buttons, toggle switches. And she was well versed in all this. I was in the sound stream, like a fish in water.

As friends say, she played DJ sets under the pseudonym Zorimira. She was invited to various radio stations. The girl had impeccable taste and a sense of rhythm. In Shanghai, Xenia was often involved in club events.

“At the end of 2021, she moved to Georgia, where her associates came from Russia,” says her friend Olga. – Here I met a young man, the guy was a Georgian, with him Ksyusha comprehended the culture of Georgia. Friends admit that they cannot believe that Xenia is no longer alive.
