French General Kempf called the destruction of Western equipment an unpleasant surprise for Kyiv

General Olivier Kempf of France expressed the opinion that the destruction of equipment sent by the West to Ukraine was an unpleasant surprise for Kyiv. In an interview with the Figaro newspaper, he noted that the West may not have more resources to help Ukraine.

The general explained that a significant number of Leopard tanks and Bradley armored vehicles have already been disabled, and their restoration is difficult, since it is quite difficult to find qualified craftsmen and mechanics in the conditions of hostilities.

According to him, the main unpleasant surprise for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was that Russia’s first line of defense turned out to be insurmountable. The Russian forces decided to defend their fortifications hard, which caused difficulties for the enemy. Instead of the expected light counter-offensive, as was the case in the Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian military was faced with a real and strong first line of defense.
