Forbes: AMX-10 RC armored vehicles did not last long in the attack on Russian positions
Forbes columnist David Ex writes that the French AMX-10 RC armored vehicles delivered to Ukraine did not last long in a frontal attack on Russian positions.
In his opinion, those 40 AMX-10RC reconnaissance vehicles that were handed over to the Ukrainian marines were not tanks and the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not seem to know this, in turn, Russian artillery cruelly reminded them of this on June 5, when the 37th brigade of the Ukrainian marines attacked Russian positions in Velyka Novoselka in the DPR.
The journalist notes that fragments of Russian shells pierced the thin armor of French vehicles. APU fighters threw several AMX-10RCs right on the battlefield, the observer added.
The Washington Post also reported that the armor on these light tanks was not enough to protect the Ukrainian military, which forced them to be placed behind the UAF fighters.
