At an athletics competition among people with disabilities in Novocheboksarsk, four Yakut athletes became winners and won the Russian Cup, reports the press service of the Triumph sports training center.
These competitions were a qualifying stage for the Russian national team. The athletes trained under the guidance of coaches Vasily Olenov and Peter Davydov.
Thus, Sargylan Semenov won the gold medal in the 400-meter race. Roman Ibragimov won the long jump. Yakov Maksimov and Ayaal Sivtsev became champions in the shot put, while Ayaal Sivtsev set a new Russian record with a result of 11.24 meters.
In addition, Victoria Petrova won a silver medal in the shot put, and Ersan Lvov won a bronze medal. Track and field athlete Nikifor Anisimov won bronze medals in the 800 and 1500 meters. Anatoly Samsonov won silver medals in the 60 and 200 meters, as well as a bronze medal in the shot put.
