Four Second League players suspended for life for match-fixing

The Control and Disciplinary Committee (CDC) of the Russian Football Union (RFU) suspended for life the athletes Denis Derkunsky, Ruslan Pidlisnyak (both SKA-Khabarovsk-2), Josi Dzaurov and Ziyadkhan Mammadov (both Essentuki) from any football activity, as well as the head of “Essentuki” Gvanzav Magomedov for organizing a fixed match. The attention of the FTC was attracted by the October meeting between the Belgorod Salyut and SKA-Khabarovsk-2 (3:1).

According to the Telegram channel Base, Essentuki football players arrived at the match in Belgorod and from the stands gave conventional signs to the Khabarovsk team. In addition, Essentuki players exchanged letters with SKA players during the break. The athletes involved in the scheme planned to make money on bets, providing the desired result.

“The fact of a conspiracy between the SKA players and the head of Essentuki was established, where this conspiracy took place, in which hotel and so on. It was also established that during the match, funds were received from certain structures – bookmakers, “- said the chairman of the committee Artur Grigoryants (quote – “R-Sport”).

Mr. Grigoryants added that the four SKA players were actively cooperating with the structures conducting the investigation, so the RFU leadership asked the FTC to release them from liability. The committee granted the request.

In April, the RFU withdrew the license from Essentuki to participate in the 2022/23 season. After that, representatives of the club announced in social networks about the dissolution of the team. In 23 matches of the current season of the Second League, Essentuki scored five points. In the last game, the team lost to Forte with a score of 0:15 (a record for Russian professional football).
