A few days ago, the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championship ended in Tampere, Finland. For the second time in a row, the world championship was held without the participation of Russian hockey players who were suspended from participation in the competition in March 2022 for political reasons.

As part of the Latvian national team, the former captain of the Nizhny Novgorod “Torpedo” Kaspars Daugavins became the bronze medalist of the World Hockey Championship. He played for the team from Nizhny Novgorod from 2015 to 2018, being one of the leaders of Peteris Skudra’s team.
