Former Lesopoval soloist Sergei Kuprik saved a heron

The bird nailed to his site

An unusual guest appeared not far from the Moscow region site of the Honored Artist of Russia Sergei Kuprik. During a walk, he found a gray heron listed in the Red Book on the path. These birds are not numerous in the Moscow region and appear mainly during migrations and flights. Most likely, the bird was injured, unable to continue its journey with its flock, and thus ended up near the house of Sergey Kuprik. Together with a neighbor, the artist carefully transferred the heron to a trampoline with a mesh fence, which stands on his site. According to the singer, the bird almost did not resist and “looked tired.” Sergey’s wife Ekaterina at that time began to call up special rehabilitation centers for birds. Literally an hour later, a rare heron in a large box was handed over to professional ornithologists.

“The guys in the center met our ward with maximum care. First of all, they fed and watered. They made an inspection – they found minor damage in the wing and immediately proceeded to the necessary procedures.

The bird will spend about a week in the center. Then a ring with a radio beacon will be put on her paw and transferred for final rehabilitation to a bird park near Moscow. From there, she will be able to fly freely to her natural habitat, her path and movements around the beacon will be tracked by specialists. It is possible that our heron will take root in the bird park and want to stay there to live, then we will be able to visit her and take patronage over her. In any case, with the help of specialists, we managed to save a rare bird. We will follow her fate in the near future, ”the ex-soloist of the Lesopoval group told MK.
