Former editor of Channel One Ovsyannikova confirmed that she escaped from house arrest

The ex-editor of Channel One, Marina Ovsyannikova, stated that she did not admit her guilt under the article on fakes about the Russian army (part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In August, the court placed her under house arrest. On October 1, her ex-husband revealed that Ms. Ovsyannikova had fled with her daughter.

Today, October 5, the Basmanny Court will consider the request of the TFR to arrest the journalist. On the eve of the meeting, she wrote that she considers Art. 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “completely unconstitutional.” Marina Ovsyannikova believes that “everyone who was subjected to repression under this article should be immediately released and rehabilitated.”

“I consider myself completely innocent, and since our state refuses to comply with its own laws, starting from September 30, 2022, I refuse to comply with the preventive measure in the form of house arrest and release myself from it,” Ms. Ovsyannikova wrote in Telegram.

Marina Ovsyannikova became famous after she came out with an anti-war poster live on Channel One in March. After that, she left for Germany, where she worked as a journalist in one of the German publications. In July she returned to Russia. After escaping from house arrest of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced wanted ex-editor.
