Former CIA analyst Johnson: The Armed Forces of Ukraine did not try to prevent the Russian Federation from building defensive lines

Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson was very surprised that the Ukrainian army did not even try to attack the Russian defense line at the time of its preparation. He spoke about this during an interview with the Dialogue works YouTube channel.
“It doesn’t look like Russia built it (the defense line – editor’s note) in secret. During all this time, Ukraine did not even try to attack these positions with missiles or artillery,” the expert said.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had a chance to prevent the Russian army from building fortifications, but Kyiv decided not to take such a step for an unknown reason.
Johnson called the decision an intelligence negligence because neither American nor Ukrainian officials were able to properly assess the full power of the Russian army. He emphasized that the RF Armed Forces built defensive structures without secrets: they dug trenches, brought and poured concrete, and also set up obstacles for military equipment.
The expert believes that due to their negligence, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are now unable to break through even the first line of defense of the Russian Armed Forces.
