Former Bologna manager Sinisa Mihajlovic dies at 53

At the age of 53, the Serbian football player, coach, winner of the European Champions Cup in the composition of Red Star Zvezda, Sinisa Mihajlovic, died. In 2019, he revealed that he was battling leukemia.

At the beginning of his football career, Sinisa Mihajlovic played for the Yugoslav clubs Borovo, Vojvodina and Crvena Zvezda. With the latter, in 1991 he managed to win the main club tournament in Europe – the European Cup. In 1992, Sinisa Mikhailovich moved to the Italian Roma. In Italy, he also played for Sampdoria, Lazio and Inter. During his Italian stage of his career, he became a two-time national champion, and also won the Italian Cup four times.
As a coach, Sinisa Mihajlovic worked for Italian Inter, Bologna, Catania, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Milan, Torino and Portuguese Sporting. From May 2012 to November 2013, he led the Serbian national team.
