Forecaster Vilfand spoke about the weather in Russia in winter

In Russia, in the winter of 2022-2023, weather is expected to be near average values, but for Russians already accustomed to abnormal temperatures, it may seem cool. This was stated by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand at a press conference.
“This winter is predicted to be near the norm of long-term averages. This means that it will roughly correspond to its climate with a probability of 65-67%,” he said.
The expert added that over the past two decades, winters in the country have become much milder, periods of abnormally warm weather have become more frequent. Because of this, Russians may perceive the usual weather for this time of year as too cool.
Vilfand also said that in the European part of Russia in late September and early October noticeable warming expectedhowever, it cannot be called a full-fledged Indian summer due to cloudy weather.
