Forecaster Leus predicted the weakening of frost in central Russia after February 23

In the central regions of Russia, from February 23 to 26, both winter frosts and a “hint” of a spring thaw are expected. This was told by the leading specialist of the weather center “Phobos” Mikhail Leus in an interview with the radio Sputnik.
As noted, on February 23, the periphery of an anticyclone moving in a southeasterly direction awaits central Russia, frosts will gradually weaken, although the air temperature will still be six to seven degrees below normal. The weather is predicted to be cloudy with clearings, there should be no precipitation. At night, the temperature will be minus 14-19 degrees, and in the northern and eastern parts of the Central Federal District it will reach minus 24 degrees. At the same time, during the day, the sun, breaking through thin clouds, will slightly increase the temperature to minus 7-12 degrees. The pressure will be slightly above normal, there will be no strong wind that day, the forecaster assured.
As noted, from Friday, February 24, the weather will change. On Friday afternoon, the approaching North Atlantic cyclone will affect the weather. The wind is expected to increase, dense clouds will cover the sky, snow will fall. However, warmer air masses will also come, the air temperature will rise to minus 1-6 degrees.
Leus also clarified that on Saturday and Sunday the temperature could rise to plus 3 degrees. The weather these days will be with light precipitation in the form of snow and sleet.
