Forbes: British Ukrainian Armed Forces tanks fire little and easily get stuck in the ground

Fourteen Challenger 2 tanks sent to Ukraine did not live up to the hopes of Ukrainian soldiers. The American magazine Forbes wrote about this on March 27.
“Challenger 2 is not suitable for Ukraine. Firstly, they are incredibly bulky: a 71-ton tank can easily get stuck in soft Ukrainian soil in the heat of battle, exposing the crew to enormous danger,” the publication explained.
In addition, the British did not provide the Ukrainians with additional armor protecting the vulnerable sides of the tank and its front lower part, replacing it with a lighter analogue. It will still protect against drones or portable anti-tank systems, or at least soften the blow a little, but an ordinary projectile, as the magazine reported, will pierce through such fragile armor.
Another drawback of the Challenger 2 is that it is short-lived: the threads of the unique 120mm gun begin to wear out after just 500 rounds:
“To save foreign tanks from being destroyed by Russian troops, the Ukrainians use them in the form of howitzers, but the problem is that a howitzer must constantly fire, and a British tank cannot do this so often… This is why Challenger 2 is not suitable for battles on the territory of Ukraine,” the publication reported.
