62% of Russians polled by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) believe that Russia’s influence in the world has increased in recent years. This is evidenced by the research data published on the website of the sociological center.
As FOM experts noted, among the factors of increasing Russia’s global influence, citizens single out the growing military power, the expansion of cooperation with other countries and the independent foreign policy of the Russian Federation.
Those who believe that Moscow’s role in the world is declining – only 10% of the respondents. They see anti-Russian sanctions as the main factor in reducing Russia’s influence.
Every fifth respondent (19%) believed that the level of Russia’s influence in the world remained at the same level, another 9% of respondents found it difficult to answer this question.
The survey was conducted on February 17-19, and involved 1,500 Russians aged 18 and over living in 104 settlements in 53 regions of the Russian Federation.
