On the evening of April 5, due to heavy flooding in Orsk, a bulk dam on the Ural River broke. By the morning of April 6, half of the Old City was flooded. In the evening of the same day, the second embankment dam broke in Orsk, and an urgent evacuation was announced in the village of Nikel. Water began to flow into the New City of Orsk on the right bank of the Urals. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the most difficult situation is developing in the Leninsky district and in the Old Town area. More than 4.5 thousand residential buildings and about 4.6 thousand personal plots were flooded.
