— My friend was supposed to fly out on Sunday morning. The flight was postponed to Monday,” says Israeli resident Marina. – The airline provided the passengers with a hotel. We’ll see what happens next and how. We were warned: it is not a fact that the flight will take place tomorrow. People, of course, are a little alarmed; it’s scary to stay in a foreign country during hostilities. There is no information about flights at the airport itself; it is better to inquire with airline representatives. On Saturday, the Turkish airline canceled some flights and rescheduled them for tomorrow. Passengers on this flight slept on the floor for almost two days. Today they received folding mattresses.

According to the interlocutor, there is no panic at Tel Aviv airport. But many Israelis with children are trying to leave the country.

“There was more panic during the coronavirus, when flights were canceled,” the woman notes. — The only unpleasant moment happened at the airport when the siren was turned on. But according to my feelings, the Israeli airport is one of the safest places in the country.

Marina herself lives in the north of Israel, in the city of Afula, where nothing reminds of a military conflict.

– It’s calm here. But they still told us: stay at home. People don’t listen and go outside. For the first time in all the years, schools in our north were closed. But the shops are open. In Haifa, people are also walking and going to work. Usually, when shelling occurs, only southerners sit at home or close to shelters, and the rest of the regions live as normal. For example, I have never heard a siren in my life, so now I read the news and I’m worried. For those who encounter something like this for the first time, it’s not very pleasant. On Saturday, when everything was in full swing, my friend and I were getting ready to go to Jerusalem. On the way we were stopped and warned that it was unsafe there. Okay, we turned around and headed north.

But my sister lives in the southwest, in the city of Ashkelon. We talked on the phone, she said: we, southerners, are used to it, we’ll sit it out, wait until it’s all over. It’s strange for you to hear this, but there people are accustomed to such an environment.
