An Alley of Mentors has appeared in Moscow: Eldar Ryazanov, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Evgeny Yamburg

An interesting innovation was implemented on Nakhimovsky Prospekt in the South-Western Administrative District of Moscow – an Alley of Mentors appeared there. These are 32 photographic portraits of outstanding personalities – each great professional in their field, whose life and work were connected with the region. Among them are Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation Evgeny Yamburg, director Eldar Ryazanov, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Natalia Sats and many others.

By decree of the President of the Russian Federation, 2023 was declared the Year of the Teacher and Mentor. The mission of the Year is recognition of the special status of teaching staff, including those performing mentoring activities. In the South-Western Administrative District they went further and chose legendary mentors from a variety of fields – these are honored teachers, scientists, doctors, artists, artists, builders. Those who are living now and those who have left us. “These are all those who made a huge contribution to the development of the country and educated entire galaxies of students,” the Moscow mayor said in a statement.

Currently, the Alley stands feature photographic portraits of film director Eldar Ryazanov, actor and theater director Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Vladimir Loktev, Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation Evgeny Yamburg, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, artistic director of the Great Moscow Circus Askold Zapashny, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Sergei Andriyaka and many others.

The guests of honor at the opening of the Alley were Evgeny Yamburg, Ivan Dedov, Askold Zapashny, and deputies of the Moscow City Duma.

Advisor to the prefect of the South-Western Administrative District Valery Vinogradov noted that stars are gathered here – people who, with their warmth, their work and energy, illuminate the path for others. According to him, behind every successful person there is a mentor who is ready to share knowledge, experience and wisdom. He added that the alley will grow and be replenished with new stars, forming a galaxy of people whom residents of the southwest admire and are rightfully proud of.
