Lead singer of the British-American band Fleetwood Mac Christine McVie died at the age of 79 after a short illness yesterday, November 30th. This is stated in a statement by the singer’s family, the text of which is given by the publication. Variety.

Members of Fleetwood Mac expressed their condolences to the singer’s family in a statement and called Ms. McVie “one of a kind, special and immensely talented.”
“There are no words to describe our sadness at the death of Christine McVie. She was the best musician anyone in the band could have and the best friend anyone could have in their life,” follows from a statement by the musicians posted on the band’s Twitter page.
Christine McVie joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970. In the same year, the singer married the bassists of the John McVie band. She contributed eight songs from the Greatest Hits album, including “Don’t Stop”, “Little Lies”, “Everywhere”, “Over My Head” and “You Make Loving Fun”.
