A visitor to one of the capital’s cafeterias sued monetary compensation for a cockroach found in coffee. Meanwhile, the owner of the establishment believes that the unpleasant situation could have been set up.
As it became known to MK, the other day the Golovinsky District Court considered an unusual case – the plaintiff stated that in a cafe on Dybenko Street she was served a cup of coffee, in which she found a dead cockroach.
According to her, this caused severe moral suffering. She demanded an apology from the staff along with compensation. Having received a refusal, the lady went to court demanding to recover 130 thousand rubles from the public catering.
The judge partially satisfied the claim – the cafe was ordered to pay 50 thousand rubles as compensation for non-pecuniary damage and another 25 thousand as a fine.
However, the owner of the establishment is sure that everything was set up, as the cafe is regularly disinfected, so there are no cockroaches or other insects. According to the manager, there is a video where the visitor is clearly preparing for something, is very nervous and is filming on a mobile phone.
The owner of the cafeteria filed an appeal.
