First UFO description found in Britain

Enthusiasts discovered in the Journal of the Royal Society for 1764 a description of a UFO that apparently flew over London during the reign of King George II.
Physician Mortimer Cromwell December 16, 1742 wrote downthat he noticed an unidentified flying object hovering over the center of London. The men were walking around Westminster in St James’s Park at about 20:40.
Cromwell was able to examine in detail the mysterious object, which was flying very slowly. He was in the doctor’s field of view for about half a minute.
As a result, the doctor was even able to sketch out the outline of the object he had written about his report.
“I saw a light come out of the trees and houses to the south, to the west. When it rose to a height of about 20 degrees, it moved almost parallel to the horizon and passed over the houses,” Cromwell wrote. The UFO had a long light tail that gradually dimmed, like modern aircraft.
British UFO hunter Steve Mera said that people on the balconies also witnessed what was happening, who were also able to get a good look at the object.
A senior Pentagon official recently told the US Congress that the military has had 11 close encounters and 400 UFO sightings in recent years.
This figure has more than doubled in the last period as ridicule over reports of UFO sightings has waned. But in our time, the object may well turn out to be an advanced model of a drone.
