Fires spread to 300 hectares in the Stavropol Territory

In the Stavropol Territory, in the village of Ozerny not far from Stavropol, on an area of 300 hectares, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations “localized the burning of dry vegetation.” This was announced in the official Telegram channel Russian Emergency Situations Ministry. According to the department, two residential buildings and ten outbuildings have already been damaged by the fire. The cause of the fire was high temperatures along with strong gusts of wind. 84 people and 42 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire.
Fires in the Stavropol region have been going on for more than a day and are recorded in different parts of the region. So, in the Mineralovodsky district in the village of Grecheskoye today, August 25, firefighters, together with the villagers, eliminated multiple fires for almost eight hours. The fire spread throughout the area due to strong winds.
For almost two days, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been extinguishing fires at the sludge sites of the Kavminvodsky treatment facilities. Fires spread from a garden partnership located on the border with the enterprise.
According to weather forecasts, fire-dangerous weather will continue in the Stavropol Territory in the coming days. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a high fire hazard of the 4th and 5th classes remains in different parts of the region. In addition, unfavorable weather is predicted with east wind gusts up to 20 m/s and dust storms.
