“Figital hockey, volleyball on the snow”: 600 students of the country’s universities will come to the 2nd All-Russian Winter Sports Festival in Krasnoyarsk

The second All-Russian Winter Festival of the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia will be held in Krasnoyarsk. This was reported in the regional Ministry of Sports.
Krasnoyarsk will host the All-Russian Winter Festival of the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia (ASSK Russia). More than 600 students from 20 regions of the country, including children from the DPR, will meet at the facilities of the 2019 Winter Universiade in the city.
Amateur athletes will compete in 6 sports, including snow rugby, curling, cross-country skiing and yukigasse. As Evgenia Bychkova, executive director of ASSK of Russia, noted, this year competitions in digital hockey and snow volleyball will be added to the program.
The organizers will also hold sports master classes, excursions, opening and closing ceremonies, and a headliner performance. Cheerleading teams will compete for the Winter Fans’ Cup.
Cheerleading teams will compete for the Winter Fans’ Cup: show performances and battles, chants contests and performances of snow mascots (team mascot characters). In addition to the fan zone and cultural and entertainment program, there will be meetings with Olympic champions. The business part of the event includes a discussion of the development of sports among students.
The event will take place from 23 to 27 February.
The festival itself will begin on Defender of the Fatherland Day, with the raising of the state flag on the highest flagpole in the country on the Nikolaevskaya Hill.
Krasnoyarsk residents are also invited to the Siberia Stadium for the weekend. Saturday there will take place the traditional championship of the city in motorcycle sports in the sports discipline “Motor racing on ice”.
