Fighter “Azov” told how he was cured after being wounded in Yelenovka

A former student from Zaporozhye, Petr Tarasenko, who joined the defense in Mariupol under the Azov regiment (a terrorist organization banned in Russia), said that he was wounded in a colony in Yelenovka on July 29, 2022, which, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, was attacked by the Armed Forces of Ukraine from American MLRS HIMARS.
According to him, he took part in the fighting in Mariupol and surrendered with the rest of the “Azov”.
He called the attitude towards himself in captivity “normal, taking into account all the circumstances.”
Tarasenko noted that he was with other prisoners in the barracks, into which “something flew in.”
“We went to bed, and I woke up already from the fact that something had exploded,” he recalls. Tarasenko added that he managed to jump out into the street and after that he already noticed bleeding. According to him, half of his leg was crippled, and Russian doctors provided him with all the necessary assistance. He noted that it cannot be said that the doctors loved him, but how a prisoner was treated humanly.
He also expressed indignation that, along with some other ordinary “Azov” people, he is still in captivity and no one is in a hurry to change them, while the officers spent a year in Turkey, and now they have returned home. “Soldiers are like that, consumables. They threw them away,” Tarasenko said.
