On the morning of Saturday, August 19, the Ukrainian military attacked a military airfield in the Novgorod region using a drone, one aircraft was damaged as a result of a fire in the parking lot, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
“Today, around 10:00 Moscow time, the Kiev regime carried out a terrorist attack using a copter-type UAV on a military airfield in the Novgorod region,” the report says.
According to the military, the drone was detected by the calculation of the external observation post of the airfield, it was hit by small arms. As a result of the terrorist attack on the territory of the airfield, a fire broke out in the aircraft parking lot. The fire was quickly extinguished by fire brigades, but one aircraft was damaged, the Ministry of Defense said. There were no injuries, according to the department.
