The head of the SBU spoke about his participation in the organization of the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge

The explosion on the Crimean bridge in October last year was personally prepared by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasily Malyuk, he told about this in an interview with the Ukrainian edition NV.

“I personally and two of my trusted employees were involved in the development and implementation of the special operation with the bridge,” Malyuk said.

According to him, he could observe the explosion “in all details”, for this the special service had its own camera installed. It took six months to prepare the attack, and various methods were considered to deliver explosives to the Crimean Bridge, Malyuk said. According to him, the Ukrainian special services carried out the operation without the help of foreign partners.

The explosion on the automobile part of the Crimean bridge occurred on October 8. A truck was blown up on the bridge, and seven fuel tanks of the train, which followed in the direction of the Crimean peninsula, also caught fire. As a result, the motor spans of the bridge partially collapsed, killing four people. A criminal case on terrorism was initiated, eight people were arrested.

At the end of July this year, the head of Malyuk also acknowledgedthat the employees of his department are behind the blowing up of the Crimean bridge. He said that some details of the organization of the terrorist attack would be revealed “after the victory.” On July 9, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar said that the Kyiv authorities were responsible for blowing up the Crimean bridge.

The Crimean bridge was also attacked on the night of July 17 by Ukrainian surface drones. As a result of the incident, a married couple died, their minor daughter was injured, and the bridge received some damage. The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia opened a case on the fact of the attack about a terrorist attack, which, according to the department, was being prepared on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services.
