Fetisov: DiCaprio agreed to take part in a hockey match at the North Pole
Two-time Olympic hockey champion Vyacheslav Fetisov believes that the time has come to ask Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio if he had time to prepare for the match at the North Pole. The hockey match should take place as part of an environmental action.
A meeting with Fetisov dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the hockey legend, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection is taking place at the press center of the Rossiya Segodnya news agency. Fetisov will celebrate the round date on April 20.
The hockey player and politician said he met with DiCaprio, who “understands environmental issues” and invited the Hollywood star to play hockey at the North Pole. “The idea is great,” DiCaprio replied, noting that he did not know how to play hockey. To which Fetisov said: “You have 9 months to learn.”
“We wanted to gather stars and hockey players,” said the deputy head of the parliamentary committee. “We have already collected support from organizations, but have not received support from environmentalists for the construction of a hockey field,” he explained to media representatives. “The project is ongoing, but the dates are not yet clear,” Fetisov said. “And DiCaprio will need to be contacted to see how ready he is.”
