Russian State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov proposed to resettle people who are uncomfortable living on Lake Baikal.

The parliamentarian believes that any interference in the ecological system of the lake can lead to irreparable consequences.

On the Baikal natural territory, in his opinion, construction work should not be carried out, as well as five-star hotels should not be built on the shore and the road network to the lake should be expanded.

At the same time, Fetisov noted that hotels near Lake Baikal create jobs for the local population, but negatively affect the preservation of the lake’s ecology. This, he believes, can lead to natural degradation and will have a negative impact on the purity of Baikal water.
