False air raid warning sounded in Moscow because of hackers

The head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the capital reported that the information about the air raid warning, which was heard on the waves of a number of radio stations and TV channels, was false. The fake alarm, the agency explained, was the result of a server breach by malicious hackers.
“On the territory of Moscow, as a result of hacking into the servers of radio stations and TV channels, information was broadcast on the air about the announcement of an air raid alert,” representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
At the same time, the department emphasizes that the broadcast has nothing to do with the rescuers’ notifications.
