– It is clear that we played with one leader, but we were determined to win, – said the SKIF mentor Dmitry Karlov. – We planned to show a quick game in attack against the big players of CSKA. According to anthropometric data, the opponent is clearly superior to us. The implementation failed, we didn’t score many 100 percent chances. In some situations, they hurried with throws and got counterattacks. The guys tried, but got tired, there was not enough bench. In the second half we also conceded a few goals that we shouldn’t have conceded.
During the match, SKIF made 55 percent of shots, the army team – 66%. A little more Krasnodar made losses – 13 against 11.
The army club is headed by a pupil of the Krasnodar handball Oleg Khodkov. The Sydney Olympic champion worked as a director at SKIF for many years, and also coached the club for two seasons.
