Explosions occurred in the Khmelnitsky region and Kherson, RIA Novosti reports citing Ukrainian media.

At first, explosions and air defense operations were reported, this was announced by the first deputy head of the Khmelnitsky regional military administration, Sergei Tyurin. At the same time, no air raid alert was announced in the region. Ukrainian authorities later reported powerful explosions in Kyiv-controlled Kherson.

Earlier it was reported that an air raid alert was declared in five regions of Ukraine, first in the Sumy region, then in the Chernihiv, Poltava and Nikolaev regions of Ukraine, as well as in parts of the Kherson region controlled by Kiev.

Jack Watling, a researcher at the British Royal United Defense Studies Institute (RUSI), said that attacks on critical infrastructure will make the winter very difficult for Ukraine. In his opinion, strikes by the Russian Armed Forces against critical infrastructure facilities pose a strategic threat to the Kyiv regime. Watling called on Ukraine to “prepare for a difficult winter.”

The Russian army began striking the infrastructure of Ukraine on October 10, in response to the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge. Strikes are carried out only on military targets, as well as energy facilities. During this time, air raid alerts in areas controlled by Kyiv are announced virtually every day, and periodically this happens throughout the country.
