The Russian economy is entering an era of personnel shortages, and, judging by the forecasts of Yakov and Partners experts, by 2030 this shortage could reach 2-4 million people.
As RIA Novosti clarifies, there is already a shortage of personnel. From 2018 to 2023, the number of jobs posted increased 1.8 times and the median salary offered increased twice as fast as GDP growth.
It is predicted that by 2030 the deficit will increase and range from 2 to 4 million people. There will be a special need for specialists of medium and higher qualifications. According to experts, the most severe problems with personnel will be experienced by: manufacturing industry (0.8-1.1 million), logistics (0.3-0.5 million) and trade (0.3-0.5 million).
“We are moving to an expensive labor market and a shortage of personnel. Businesses will have to adapt by improving working conditions, increasing productivity and building long-term relationships with educational institutions,” emphasizes Elena Kuznetsova, partner of the company and co-author of the study.
To overcome the challenges of personnel shortages, experts recommend that the state support employers who create favorable working conditions, invest in education, adapt the education system to the needs of the market, develop programs for the repatriation of Russian-speaking specialists and attracting migrants with skills in short supply.
