Experts said that children should not be put in boxes with New Year’s sweets

“No more than three chocolates in one gift”

As practice shows, it is simply impossible to collect the perfect sweet gift for a child for the New Year. Because caries from lollipops, fashionable toffee gummies are replete with a set of harmful components, and chocolates may contain unwanted cocoa bean butter. And yet, if you are puzzled by this question, a chest of sweets can turn out very much in the style of a healthy lifestyle. The main thing is that the children themselves are happy with him.

When store shelves are bursting with sweet sets from popular and little-known companies, and parents doubt the quality of such gifts, a “handmade gift” may be a reasonable solution. Bake homemade cookies, prepare several types of homemade sweets, make chocolate figurines, wrap them in bright food paper and put them in a smart gift bag.

But many parents will say it’s a feat they don’t have time for. But to spend an hour or two in the store, choosing the “right” sweets – that’s welcome. But first you need to understand what exactly experts recommend for children.

– Before forming gifts from sweets, look at the composition. Undesirable vegetable fats, soy products, flavorings, preservatives, “yeshki” (GMOs). The product should be GOST, not “TU”, – says pediatrician Anna Fedorova. – Caramel sweets can be put in a New Year’s gift for children from three to four years old. They are for those who know how to dissolve them, do not swallow or bite through. And chocolate more often than other sweets causes allergies, and it should be minimized in the children’s menu.

Dentist Inna Zotova has a slightly different point of view. She is sure that the most harmful sweets (if we talk about dental health) are just caramels, because they provoke early caries. But chocolates in this sense are completely harmless.

She also reminded that children should not be given confectionery products containing alcohol, natural coffee, cooking and confectionery fats, sodium pyrosulfite, and peanuts, because this is the strongest allergen.

In turn, the chief freelance pediatrician of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region, director of the Research Clinical Institute of Childhood Niso Odinaeva advocates jelly candies. In her opinion, they are the most useful.

“The main component of such sweets is gelatin,” says Odinaeva. – And it is considered dietary, like marmalade in its natural form. This means that there is more benefit in them, and less harm. It is no coincidence that they are sometimes allowed even with therapeutic diets. They have less sugar than others, no fat, but there is pectin that is useful for digestion. Unless there should be no glaze – it may turn out to be base. And also choose sweets with the least amount of dyes – bright, especially acidic colors in sweets should alert you extremely.

Also, the chief pediatrician near Moscow – for marshmallows or marshmallows, which are made on the basis of natural applesauce and do not contain sugar. The content of agar-agar is also allowed in the composition of the product – this is an algae, which allows the product to acquire a jelly-like structure much faster without compromising the taste.

In addition, gingerbread and waffles will not bring harm to health. The expert believes that one sweet gift should not contain more than three chocolates.
